2010 French Open Tennis
The 2010 French Open will be remembered as a tournament of upsets.
In the women's draw only one of the top ten seeds made the final, as 7th seed Samantha Stosur came up against Francesca Schiavone of Italy. The women's final saw Stosur fall victim to yet another upset, as the 29-year-old Schiavone wrapped up her first grand slam title in straight sets.
The French Open is always one of the highlights of the year when it comes to things to do in Paris. Paris is a gorgeous city at the best of times, but there is nothing better than to be at Roland Garros in the spring. With all of the high-quality tennis, the 2010 tournament was no different.
The 2010 French Open men's draw also saw its fair share of upsets, as Andy Murray and Andy Roddick both exited the tournament early, while Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic failed to get past the quarterfinals.
However, Rafael Nadal prevailed, showing some of his best form since 2008 to reach the final. In the men's final Nadal came up against last year's losing semifinalist, Robin Soderling, and the Spaniard made short work of his Swedish opponent to claim his 5th French Open title in straight sets.
